About this Course

The online course "Algebra I" is a full-year course provided by the Well-Trained Mind Academy (WTMA) that serves as a foundation for advanced upper-level mathematics courses. It covers topics such as evaluation of multi-variable expressions, distribution and factoring, single and multi-variable linear equations, ratios and percents, direct, inverse, and joint proportion, graphing lines, inequalities, and quadratic equations among others. The course emphasizes problem-solving logic, engagement with upper-level math, and strengthening the student's ability to explain answers in words to foster in-depth understanding and enjoyment of mathematics. Group work and multiple attempts to solve problems are encouraged in this course that strictly adheres to the AoPS problem-solving approach.
