About this Course

This is a description of an online algebra 2 honors course that is designed to prepare students for calculus in high school or college. The course covers various mathematical concepts including linear and quadratic equations, powers and roots, rational functions, matrices, logarithms, trigonometry, sequences and series, probability, statistics, conic sections and translating conic sections, visual representations of mathematical principles and real-world problem solving. This honors course covers more conceptual topics and spends less time on review and practice of fundamentals compared to the standard course. The curriculum used is the award-winning Elayn-Gay School Series (AGA) by Martin-Gay, which includes a rich set of thousands of supplemental videos and excellent on-line MyMathLab resources. This course has CA A-G approval.
