Advanced Spanish Poetry

This online course delves into Spanish poetry for intermediate to advanced students. Spanning a full year and meeting once a week for 1.5 to 2 hours, the class is conducted entirely in Spanish. It's suitable for high school students who have completed Spanish 4 or equivalent, as well as adults with sufficient Spanish proficiency. The course follows the Byzantine instructional approach, combining reading, discussion, and creative writing, with an emphasis on engagement with the text and vocabulary expansion. Students will interact with a variety of Spanish authors, explore commentaries and annotations, and even compose their own poetry. Memorization of favorite poems is encouraged. Upon completion, high school students may earn 1 Language credit.
