2D Art I & II
About this Course
The "2D Art" course is a one-semester high school offering with the option to extend to a full year. The course focuses on two-dimensional art forms, including drawing, painting, and other visual art techniques. Students will study topics such as composition, color theory, perspective, and visual storytelling, and will have the chance to work with various materials, from pencil and charcoal to oil and acrylic paints. Through hands-on practice and project-based learning, students will develop their understanding of artistic principles and the unique elements of 2D design, and they will have opportunities to express themselves creatively.
The course is structured to allow students to take it in either the fall or spring semester or to complete both the 2D Art I and 2D Art II offerings in the fall and spring, respectively, to create a full-year sequence. This structure enables students to gain a comprehensive understanding of 2D art and maximize their exposure to the techniques and materials used in this medium.
